Buxton School is delighted to announce that we have secured funding from “Magic Breakfast” to offer every pupil a complimentary hot bagel every morning.
All pupils wanting to join us for our Magic Breakfast will use the entrance on Cann Hall Road to enter the Breakfast Club where they will be able to enjoy a complimentary hot bagel in the lunch box.
Secondary pupils will be able to access Magic Breakfast between 7.30am and 8.30am. Primary pupils will be able to access Magic Breakfast between 8.20 am to 8.35 am.
Pupils will also have an option to buy fillings provided by Olive Dining and will need to have money on their dinner accounts. A choice of fillings will be offered from Olive dining e.g. sausage, bacon, egg, beans, butter and jam costing 10p-50p.
The aim of the National School Breakfast Programme “Magic Breakfast” is to ensure no child starts the school day too hungry to learn. Funding for the programme comes from the Department for Education and is being delivered by a partnership of two charities: Family Action and Magic Breakfast.
A healthy breakfast will give young ones the fuel they need for learning and the energy they need for the physical activities of the day. A good breakfast also helps to avoid the grumbling tummies that cause cravings for unhealthy snacks and poor food choices that can lead to obesity. We also know that attending a school Breakfast Club gets children into good attendance patterns at school and ensures punctuality.
Primary Breakfast Club offers breakfast and daily childcare, Monday to Friday, 7.30-8.45am. The current cost is £2.70 per day (£13.50 per week).
Secondary Breakfast Club offers a safe environment Monday to Friday, 7.30-8.30am in the Lunch Box for pupils to have breakfast and do homework etc… before school. The current cost depends on what you order. A set menu is available for £1.00 per day which includes a slice of toast with beans or egg and a fruit juice.
Please complete an application form if you wish your child(ren) to join Breakfast Club.
